The route: along the Red Sea to Cairo
The drive to Cairo follows the coastal road north: from Marsa Alam via El Quseir and Safaga to Hurghada, then on the expressway towards Cairo via the Galala road and Ain Sokhna, and finally on the Ring Road to Cairo and Giza at the Pyramids.
It is a long but well-built route with modern expressways for most of the way. Breaks are possible on the way.
