Prices for the transfer to Luxor
The price depends on your hotel area and the vehicle. Hotels north of the airport – El Quseir, Utopia and Akassia – are closer to Safaga and the turn-off to Luxor. The further south your hotel is, the more coastal kilometres are added.
From Marsa Alam Airport the price is the same as for Coraya Bay and Port Ghalib, as both areas are right next to the airport.

ROUTE
The route: via Safaga and Qena to Luxor
For transfers with tourists there is exactly one permitted route from the coast to Luxor: first along the coastal road to Safaga, then on the well-built desert road from Safaga to Qena and along the Nile to Luxor. All tourist vehicles from El Gouna, Hurghada, Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi, Soma Bay, El Quseir and Marsa Alam use this road.
From the hotels north of the airport we drive north to Safaga; from the hotels in the south of Marsa Alam we also drive north, past the airport and El Quseir. The shorter road via Quft is not approved for tourist transfers – which is why the drive is longer than a map app sometimes shows.
There is a checkpoint in Safaga. Your driver shows the tourist travel permit with the approved route to your destination. We arrange the permit for you – you don't need to do anything. Just keep your passports at hand.

How long is the drive from Marsa Alam to Luxor?
About 5 hours from Marsa Alam Airport, about 4.5 hours from El Quseir and 6 to 7 hours from the south of Marsa Alam – depending on the hotel area and the checkpoint.
Why do we drive via Safaga and not the shorter road?
Only the route via Safaga and Qena is approved for tourist transfers. All tourist vehicles from the coast use it; the shorter roads are for locals only.
Is the price per person?
No. All prices are per vehicle. Only you and your fellow travellers ride in the car, SUV or minibus.
Can you take me straight from Marsa Alam Airport to Luxor?
Yes. Choose the airport when booking and enter your flight number. The driver waits at arrivals and takes you straight to Luxor – at the Coraya Bay and Port Ghalib price.
Can you take me from Luxor to Marsa Alam Airport?
Yes. Enter your departure time. We pick you up in Luxor early enough to reach the airport with time to spare – you see the pickup time right when booking.
